AVAYA WFO Installation

Some words about WFO

WFO-Workforce Optimization by Avaya. This avaya product allows to make recordings, to optimize the Contact Center work, to make work more effective.
Today I'd like to tell you about installation of Contact Recorder (WFO soft for calls recording). I want to show all installation steps, because I noticed a lot of engineers have problems with installation...and me too :)

1) Let's define what we need for installation

A computers:
server, laptop, usual computer for WFO. It doesn't matter, look for necessary computer parameters in documentation Avaya Contact Recorder Planning, Installation and Administration Guide);
Windows computer for kickstart creation.
(I used Windows laptop with Linux VMware)
Soft:
VMware Workstation (if you want virtual wfo server). I used version which I could find in my laptop (6.5).
Linux Red Hat Enterprise (version 5 or higher);
WFO (cscm-10 or higher. The last version is 11).

I used Linux and WFO in .iso format (not important).

2) Kickstart file creation

Open WFO archive at Windows computer. Find there a kickstart.exe and open it.
Choose a keyboard style (I used Russian language ;) ), Timezone. Define IP-adress for your WFO server and Netmask. Also choose server's hard disk configuration (1 disk or 2 disks, If you choose 2 disks you should name both of disks). Important thing to check RH5 in Package Selection.
And click "Generate file".
And save this file when you want. You can use any name for this file.

3) HTTP server

The next step is to put your kickstart file to http server. I used "Http File Server 2.0".

Of course, this server should be in the same network with WFO server. I used Windows computer which I used before.

4) DHCP server

Also we need dhcp server. I used special soft(Tftpd by Ph.Jounin) on Windows computer because this is only lab experiment. This server will give address to WFO server on virtual mashine (guest mashine on Windows computer). After choosing address pool you should click "save".

5) Virtual mashine creation

Let's create new virtual mashine. Open VMware Workstation and click "create new virtual mashine"

6) Linux installation

Click "Setting" of virtual machine, choose "CD/DVD", check "Use ISO image" ->Browse and choose your Red Hat Linux Enterprise ISO image. (Or If you have a Disk you can use CD/DVD-device)
After, Power On your virtual mashine.
You should boot by kickstart file. Write the name of your kickstart file and path to it in the special string at the page bottom.

For example : boot:   linux ks=http://192.168.1.2/ks_vadim.cfg
After Installation will be begun and you will see a lisence key window. If you have this key then write it, If not you can skip this window. Installation will be continued.

At the end of installation, don't click reboot! You should change settings before like at the next pic!!!

And only after this  manipulation you may reboot linux system.
After rebooting you should make a user "root" and check password "Contact Store".

Result: we have Windows machine with IP: 192.168.1.2 and virtual linux machine with IP: 192.168.1.5
Try to make ping between these mashines. If they see each other you can continue.

7) WFO installation

For WFO installation, open CD\DVD settings in Linux and browse for your WFO ISO image.

After click on your new CD and open it in terminal. Write sh ./autorun

And you will see a window with three elements for installing. Install it in order: first, second, third. It is important!!!!

The finish step is rebooting your virtual mashine.

8) Web-interface

Open Internet Explorer on windows mashine and write http://192.168.1.5:8080
And you will see a window of Contact Store. Choose your own login and password.

The end!!!

"Hello world!"

This is the first day of being a "blogger". This idea came to me suddenly. I'm going to write about different things such as engineer experience and fashion, music and books...

If you will decide to read my notes.... Welcome to Darialand! :)
